With spring officially in the air, there’s no better time than the present to start prepping for warmer months to come. While the mere thought of beach season may be motivation enough for some individuals to kick-start their fitness routines, actually sticking to an exercise regime for the long run will require a lot more than just initial motivation.
It’s so easy to plan our daily workouts around the rest of our schedule, where work and socializing usually prevail above all else. However, is there any reason why we can’t make sweating just as much a priority in our lives as our careers? Or even leisure? If daily activity is a proven way to feel better, inside and out, why does it always take the backburner to everything else we have going on?
What if we started putting exercise first, and worked our leisure time around our workouts? Or better yet, incorporated our workouts into our leisure time altogether – be it in the form of a hike, a fitness class taken with a friend, or even stress relieving yoga? As far as we're concerned, there’s no better way to unwind than through some sweat-inducing, endorphin releasing physical activity.
